Pongali

Ingredients:

  • 2 cup rice
  • 1 cup moong dal
  • 1/4 cup ghee
  • 1/4 cup pieces of cashewnuts
  • 2 tbsp of pepper
  • 2 tbsp of jeelakarra
  • salt to taste


Method:

Cook rice and dal (mixed) by adding salt. Then heat the ghee in a vessel and after when it becomes very hot add pepper, jeelakarra and nuts to it. Then add it to the rice and mix well so that the entire thing is mixed properly. Now serve it hot with some chutney of your choice.
